Located at the top of the renowned Flåm Railway in Myrdal, Vatnahalsen Høyfjellshotell can only be reached by train and is perched high above Aurlandsfjord. The hotel is situated 0.9 miles from Myrdal station, and during winter, it is not accessible on foot due to snow conditions. We recommend taking the train one stop down to Vatnahalsen station. Be sure to check the train schedule. In the summertime, it is a 30-minute walk to the hotel. Access by car is not possible.

From Flåm, which is 12 miles down the valley, fjord cruises depart for the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Nærøyfjord. The popular Rallarvegen Navvies' Road also passes through Vatnahalsen, offering cyclists a breathtaking journey over the Hardangervidda mountain plateau, culminating at the shores of Aurlandsfjord.
